Cork Employers attend “Grand Job” Breakfast

Monday 11 April 2016

Grand Job is the name of an advocacy campaign promoted by Cope Foundation.

The aim of the Grand Job campaign is to get real paid jobs for people supported by Cope Foundation.

The Grand Job campaign is supported by Cork Chamber of Commerce.

Since the Grand Job campaign launched back in May 2015, nine people have been placed in jobs with nine Cork businesses.

Cope Foundation hosted a “Grand Job” Breakfast Briefing for Cork-based employers in Radisson Blu Cork on Friday 8th April.

At this breakfast attendees heard speeches from several people:

Sinead Kane of The Kane Ability. Who is a motivational speaker.

Katie Buckley and John Murphy of Katie’s Chocolate. Who are an employer and employee who were matched through the Grand Job campaign.

Dermot Crosby of Department of Social Welfare. Who spoke about government grants and rebates for employers.

Their speeches helped to inform attendees of the social and financial benefits of getting involved in the Grand Job campaign.

The nine employers who got involved in Grand Job and Cork Chamber were presented with small gifts as a thank you for their work.

If your business is interested in getting involved in Grand Job, you can visit our dedicated Grand Job page for more information.
