Running the Marathon for Cope Foundation

Thursday 23 February 2017

James Maher is running his first ever full marathon to raise money for Cope Foundation.

James chose Cope Foundation because his wife Aimee has been a Cope Foundation staff member for 19 years.

Aimee works in Cope Foundation residential centres Rossbarra 2 and 3.

James would like to see centres like these funded.

James said “My wife Aimee has worked for Cope Foundation for 19 years in different units. I've met people supported by the organisation and families through the years.”

“I have seen first-hand the fantastic service that Cope Foundation and its dedicated staff provide. The respect and dignity shown to each and every client is commendable and I'm very eager to contribute.”

James did the Cork half marathon last year and is now training over 20 weeks to get him ready for the full marathon.

James is looking forward to running alongside friends and his running club members.

Cope Foundation thanks everyone who is taking part in the marathon or any other fundraiser on behalf of the organisation.
