Three schools, each with its own Board of Management, cater for pupils with special educational needs.



Scoil Bernadette, located at Bonnington, Montenotte, Cork is a co-educational, post-primary school catering for the needs of students aged between 12–18 years with mild general learning difficulties. Pupils are enabled to reach their potential both academically and socially though the provision of academic, social, personal and general life-skills programmes.

On the academic front, examinations offered at Scoil Bernadette include Junior Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied and the National Council for Vocational Awards.

Scoil Bernadette also offers a wide range activities to pupils which include: Arts & Crafts; Leisure Skills; Soccer; Swimming; Basketball; Athletics; Orienteering; Music; Pottery and Drama.

COPE Foundation provides a range of support services to Scoil Bernadette including psychology, social work, occupational therapy,speech therapy, pre-vocational training and transport.

The school actively encourages the involvement of parents in their child's education



Scoil Eanna, located in Montenotte Cork, is a co-educational school for pupils with mild general learning difficulties of primary school age.

Pupils are enabled to develop their social skills and to access the mainstream curriculum through both individualised and collaborative learning experiences.

The pupils benefit from a high teacher:pupil ratio, support of Special Needs Assistants and the services of an inter-disciplinary team comprising of an occupational therapist, speech and language therapist, physiotherapist, nursing staff, psychologist and social worker.

Parents are encouraged and supported to actively participate in their child's education.



St. Paul's School, located at Beech Hill, Montenotte, Cork is a school for students with moderate, severe and profound general learning disabilities. We cater for boys and girls from 4 - 18 years. The philosophy of St. Paul's is based on our belief in the inherent value of every individual, regardless of his/her rate of development and capacity for learning.

>We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, tailored to each student's individual needs. Each student has an individual education plan, setting out his/her priority needs and the educational and inter-disciplinary plan for meeting those needs.

We have a highly trained staff of teachers, special needs assistants, and a comprehensive inter-disciplinary team that includes psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, nurses, social workers, speech and language therapists, a music therapist, a nutritionist, a physical education teacher and an art teacher.

The above three schools come under the aegis of COPE Foundation.
