Golf Classic Success

23 July 2018

The Cope Foundation Golf Classic took place this year on 28th and 29th June. This year was the 22nd year of the Golf Classic. The event raised much needed funds for Cope Foundation.

This year's tournament, which featured up to 60 teams, took place at Monkstown Golf Club. The weather was beautiful.

The Golf Classic is sponsored by O'Flynn Exhams Solicitors.

Cope Foundation Chief Executive, Sean Abbott commented: "The annual Golf Classic continues to be one of the highlights of our fundraising year, and couldn’t be accomplished without our firm friends, donors and fundraisers. Over 40% of the people we support are aged 40 years and over. For people with intellectual disabilities, the aging process tends to happen earlier, progress much faster than usual, and can bring about complex needs which we need to be able to meet. The funds raised from this year’s Golf Classic will enable us to develop and augment services and supports for the older people we support.”

There were three sessions over the two days of the Golf Classic. The winners from each session received some lovely prizes. The overall winners also received the Bord Gais Perpetual Trophy. Congratulations to the winning team, DWN Instrumentation Ltd.

This year, we had a special hole in one competition. This was sponsored by Kia at Johnson and Perrott Motor Group. The prize for the person who got a hole in one was a beautiful Kia Sportage car. There was no winner of the competition - but some people came very close!

Thank you to all the companies and individuals who supported our Golf Classic this year. There are lots of photos from the event below.
