Cope Foundation celebrates new HIQA registrations

HIQA is the Health Information and Quality Authority.

HIQA have written national standards for residential services for children and adults with disabilities.

The standards outline what a good quality, safe residential service for people with disabilities should look like.

The standards try to make sure people with disabilities of all ages participate in, and contribute to, activities which help them to be happy.

Cope Foundation has been granted 10 full registrations by HIQA so far.

Cope Foundation has recently achieved registration in 3 areas. Mallow, Kanturk and Mayfield.

Cope Foundation Mallow, Bellevue and Glen Lodge, celebrated their full HIQA registration on Friday 10th July 2015.

Sean Sherlock TD, Minister of State, Department of Foreign Affairs with responsibility for North South Co-Operation, Trade Promotion and Development unveiled the HIQA registration certificate at Glen Lodge.

Minister Sean Sherlock said: "I was delighted to celebrate this wonderful achievement with people who have stayed the course for decades in providing excellent care and support to ensure that all our community are safe and well. People in Glen Lodge and Bellevue of Cope foundation Mallow had a vision which is now a reality and it's a testament to the hard work done that HIQA standards have been reached."

Colette Kelleher, Chief Executive of Cope Foundation also spoke and thanked everybody for their efforts in achieving registration.

County Mayor John Paul O’Shea and Joe Morrissey of the Health Service Executive were also at the event.

Mary Kearney, Person in Charge, at Bellevue and Glen Lodge said: "Achieving our HIQA registration is the result of hard work and cooperation of all of the residents and team. We have met all of the HIQA standards and we are delighted to celebrate with the people we support, their families, friends and staff and I would like to thank everyone who have made the registration happen and who continue to make Bellevue and Glen Lodge lovely places to live."

Cope Foundation Kanturk, Curra House, celebrated their full HIQA Registration on Wednesday 15th July 2015.

Deputy Michael Moynihan TD, spoke at the event and County Mayor John Paul O’Shea was also in attendance.

Mary Kearney, Person in Charge, at Curra House said: "Achieving our HIQA registration is the result of hard work and cooperation of all of the residents and team. We have met all of the HIQA standards and we are delighted to celebrate with the people we support, their families, friends and staff and I would like to thank everyone who have made the registration happen and who continue to make Curra House a lovely place to live. We are very lucky to have a wonderful community around us that adds to making Curra House an important piece of the fabric of our local area."

Cope Foundation, Lotamore, in Mayfield also celebrated their full HIQA Registration on Tuesday 28th July 2015.
