North Cork Adapted Tag Rugby Hub launched

North Cork Adapted Tag Rugby Hub launched

Thursday 11 February 2016

Last year Cope Foundation Mallow and Mallow RFC joined together to create a new Adapted Tag Rugby team.

This team is called Mallow Barbarians.

Mallow Barbarians now want to spread Adapted Tag Rugby to other rugby clubs around north Cork.

To do this they have launched an Adapted Tag Rugby Hub.

This hub will be a central location to coach, train and play.

Adapted Tag Rugby is a non-contact game of rugby.

Men and women play on the same team.

There are 7 players on each team.

Players wear tag on their hips.

When a player pulls off an opponent’s tag counts as a tackle.

Adapted Tag Rugby is governed by IRFU.

IRFU is Ireland’s national rugby body.
