Job Shadow Day, on April 22nd 2015, is a national project bringing people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism and local employers together for one day. Cope Foundation is still looking for businesses and employers in Cork interested in hosting a placement.

Cope Foundation Riverview has been granted full HIQA registration in recent weeks. Riverview Retirement Home, situated in Montenotte, opened its doors for the first time in 1997 and was extended in 2005. Riverview is a residential centre, which caters for the needs of the older adult and can accommodate 30 people with an intellectual disability.

Riverview recently carried out an exercise and activities program and studied its impact on the people involved. The aim of this program was to increase the amount of physical activity the people who we support engage in and move closer to meeting international guidelines for exercise.

A group of 29 students of a series of advocacy workshops graduated with a certificate of participation from Cork Institute Technology recently.

Rossbarra a centre for adults with an intellectual disability operating since 2010, part of Cope Foundation’s services in the Southside of Cork City offering residential and short break accommodation has been granted full HIQA Registration in recent weeks.
